About the Pennsylvania Convention Center
The Pennsylvania Convention Center is found in downtown Philadelphia at 1101 Arch St. This part of the city is considered Center City, the central business district, and houses the cities tallest buildings. The Convention Center opened in 1993 to accomodate the larger crowds attending sporting and entertainment events and political conventions which had beed held at the smaller Philadelphia Civic Center. It has as its main entrance the historical Reading Railroad Terminal train station which was built in 1893.
The Convention Center is easily reached by car for about 40% of the US population and is also on or near public transportation routes. If you drive, ample parking is nearby with rates ranging from hourly to 24 hour spans. If your stay includes the need for overnight accomodations, there are many very nice hotels within walking distance of the Center, with a Marriott attached to the property via a walkway over 12th Street. While attending an event, you can access the WiFi service.
